Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions Answered

How long will my counselling session last?

Each session will last for 50 minutes, towards the end of our session I will let you know our session is nearly over. If your sessions is taking place over zoom, I will email you at least 24 hours before our scheduled appointment to ensure you have the link you need. If there is any difficulty reaching you on zoom, or we lose connection during our session, I will call you and continue over the phone.

Will what I say be kept confidential?

Yes.

What is said during our counselling sessions is completely confidential and your identity and personal information will be protected at all times in accordance with the current GDPR law. I am also a member of the ICO and abide by their data protection practises.

I work and practice as a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP). I regularly review their ethical framework to ensure that I am working in a safe and ethical way.

How many sessions will I need?

As a general rule I initially offer clients six sessions, one every week, followed by a review during our sixth session. Counselling can be either long or short term and you can let me know what will work best for you.
After our initial phone conversation I will block out the slot you choose, to ensure it is available for you each week.
